(Colorado Springs, CO) -- A former aide to the Colorado Springs City Council claims a settlement over his firing was pulled off the table by the city. George Culpepper was let go earlier this month after being hired in December. He tells the "Colorado Springs Gazette" he was offered more than 12-thousand-dollars and medical benefits for his family. Culpepper says he believes the verbal offer was made to keep him from talking in front of the council about his firing. City officials claim there was never a formal offer. Culpepper was fired after he contacted an airline about marijuana policies, which was viewed as harmful to the airport's relationship with carriers.
