(Denver, CO) -- Governor Hickenlooper is apologizing to Colorado sheriffs over gun control laws passed last year. He met with sheriffs from around the state on Friday in Aspen. Hickenlooper promised better communication in the future, apologizing for not talking with them before the measures were passed. They include limits on magazine capacity and an expansion of background checks to include private sales. Many of the state's sheriffs have opposed the new laws, and joined a federal lawsuit looking to have them overturned. A decision in that case is expected later this summer.
