(El Paso County, CO) -- El Paso County taxpayers are getting some answers as to how the investigation into Sheriff Terry Maketa will be paid for. County Commissioner Dennis Hisey said yesterday that money is earmarked from the general fund for legal fees, but the costs could run over what's available. If that happens, county commissioners will have to decide where the additional money will come from. Maketa is under investigation over accusations of creating a hostile work environment, sexual favoritism and other allegations. Hisey says it's too early to speculate what the final dollar figure will be. High-profile attorney Pamela Mackey has agreed to represent Maketa at a rate of 250-dollars an hour.
