This is what they meant, when they say “corona virus is a message from God”. Not about God killing us all so that we come to fear him or her even more. The whole idea is to put before us our humanity and help us realize that we are nothing without each other.

Because He lives we can face tomorrow; He is the Alpha and the Omega and He is with us always to the end of the age. "For I the LORD your God will hold your right hand saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you'" (Isa 43:11). "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27).
