Some residents in Laguna Beach, California are criticizing the new paint job on the city’s police cars that includes the American flag, calling the image “too aggressive.”

The Los Angeles Times reports officials agreed to reconsider their decision to paint the Laguna Beach Police Department’s fleet of 11 squad cars after some residents complained.

Councilman Peter Blake was stunned by the criticism saying, “People are screaming that the American flag on a police car is somehow or another ... hurting people’s feelings who might be immigrants or visitors.”

He called it “ridiculous” that people would complain about cop cars with American flags on them.
