The ACLU issued a public statement on Monday that confirmed that the organization appears to be straying further and further from its historic mission.

As Breitbart reports, the “civil rights” group said in a statement that it strongly opposes due-process rights for those accused of sexual misconduct on college campuses after Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos issued new guidelines on how schools should comply with Title IX as it relates to charges of sexual wrongdoing.

The ACLU stated on Twitter that, “The proposed rule would make schools less safe for survivors of sexual assault and harassment.”

It further says the policy, “Promotes an unfair process, inappropriately favoring the accused.”

Critics called the ACLU position, “mindboggling.” One said, “Complaining about excessive protections for people accused of crimes is an odd position for the ACLU to take.”
