Merry Christmas and happy new year from C’est Si Bon! I’m writing this on Christmas Eve, while in the middle of baking cookies for us to eat this week. I can’t wait to relax and enjoy them tonight.

If you’re reading this, it’s the day after Christmas, though, so if you do decide to cook this week, may I suggest these dishes for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. These are easy and so delicious and have become tradition here in the McCullough house.

The mushroom galette is a perfect hors d’oeuvre for a larger party, or a little dinner for 2-4 people. It pairs wonderfully with a champagne cocktail (we like the Queen’s Coupe) or just a glass of champagne.

Make the croque monsieur casserole on New Year’s Eve, and all you have to do on New Year’s Day is bake it off in the oven while you sip hot chocolate and watch the Rose Parade. At least that’s what I’ll be doing.
