A federal judge is raising concerns about how a high-profile suspect is being held in a Washington, D.C. jail.
The man—accused of attempting to storm the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and kill President Trump—was placed on strict suicide watch after his arrest.
His attorneys say he was confined to a padded cell under 24-hour lockdown, with constant lighting and repeated searches.
Jail officials have since eased those restrictions, but the judge says questions remain about whether the treatment may have been punitive.
U.S. forces are firing on Iranian boats as they work to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route.
The military says six Iranian vessels were sunk during the operation.
The United Arab Emirates, a key U.S. ally, says it was also targeted in a separate attack Monday—the first since a fragile ceasefire took hold in early April.
Officials say two American-flagged ships have now safely transited the strait.
Iran’s foreign minister is warning both the U.S. and the UAE not to be dragged back into a wider conflict.
In this episode of the Carl Jackson Show, Carl dives into the latest news and shares his thoughts on the US-Iran tensions, the Spirit Airlines collapse, and the Biden administration's handling of the situation. He discusses the recent exchange of fire between the US and Iran, the American military's efforts to defend against Iranian drones and missiles, and the implications of the ongoing conflict. Carl also touches on the Spirit Airlines bankruptcy and the Biden administration's role in its demise, highlighting the airline's struggles during the COVID-19 era and the consequences of the administration's decisions.

President Donald Trump said on Monday (May 4) that “hundreds of millions" of barrels of oil are coming out of Venezuela as Washington seeks to deepen its involvement in the country’s energy sector.
"We have a great relationship. We have hundreds of millions of barrels of oil coming out of Venezuela, going to Houston and different places to have it refined. And we're sort of, it's almost really a partnership," said Trump. "The big companies are coming in now and they're building these giant rigs because there's a lot of oil in Venezuela, there's a lot of other things too, and a lot of great people."
Recent data shows Venezuela's exports are at roughly 1.2 million barrels per day, their highest level in years.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Secret Service says a suspect who opened fire Monday on the National Mall did so after being confronted by officers. Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn said officers returned fire, and a bystander was struck by the suspect. He said the motorcade of Vice President JD Vance transited through the area not long before the shooting, but there was no indication it was the target. The incident happened Monday afternoon around 15th Street and Independence Avenue near the Washington Monument. The Secret Service encouraged people to avoid the area as emergency crews responded to the shooting not far from the White House, where President Donald Trump was holding a small business event.
