New details are emerging as police say the suspect who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson may have left a message behind on the bullet casings at the scene.

50-year-old Thompson was shot Wednesday morning as he walked alone to the New York Hilton Midtown from a nearby hotel. Video surveillance shows the moment of the shooting that police are calling a brazen, targeted attack.

Police sources told the New York Post that the words "deny," "depose" and "defend" were written on the casings and live rounds that were left at the scene after the shooting – police believe the killer was trying to leave a message.

According to a witness the suspect waited all night for Thompson to arrive at the Hotel, and Thompson’s wife said her husband was being threatened before his death.
