This Fun Friday episode gallops across New York City like a caffeinated tour guide with great shoes. Kevin McCullough and Cristyne Nicholas kick things off on the water, reminiscing about sailing near the tall ships in New York Harbor, including the much-admired Amerigo Vespucci, and spotlighting NYC Water Cruises’ harbor experiences and upcoming sunset cruises.

The city adventure then jumps from sea breeze to stage lights with a glowing look at Off-Broadway’s Music City at St. Luke’s Theatre. Producer Francine LeFrak shares why she backed the immersive East Nashville-style musical: serious talent, original music, live instruments, an open-mic setup, and a story packed with ambition, romance, and moral detours. In other words: Broadway energy with a honky-tonk heartbeat.

Next stop: The Frick Collection, where Yifu Liu discusses Ruffles and Ribbons: Fashion Plates from the Time of Marie Antoinette. The exhibit explores late-18th-century fashion, Marie Antoinette’s role as a global style icon, and the surprisingly powerful connection between fashion, politics, commerce, and celebrity culture. Think couture meets revolution—with sharper hats.

Cristyne wraps with a weekend hit list for culture-seekers and night owls: catch Music City, visit the Frick, book a harbor cruise, and keep an eye on upcoming NYC-area happenings, including Linda Perillo book events and a planned Radio Night Live remote from Arthur Avenue. Along the way, the hosts celebrate New York’s neighborhoods, immigrant heritage, and the delightful chaos that keeps the city humming after dark.
