Dear Kevin,

You asked about my latest trip—and I have to say, Savannah absolutely stole my heart.

There’s something timeless about it. The moss-draped oaks, the cobblestone squares, the wraparound porches. It’s like the city leans in and whispers, “Slow down. Take your time.”

I grabbed lunch at The Grey, an old Greyhound bus terminal turned into one of the best restaurants I’ve ever stepped foot in. The food? A modern take on Southern comfort. I had the country pasta—yes, pasta—with smoked pork, mustard greens, and a silky gravy that felt like a warm hug. It was soulful and sophisticated in the same bite.

For accommodations, I stayed at The Thunderbird Inn. It’s retro in the coolest way—vintage neon, MoonPies on the pillows, and root beer in the fridge. It’s quirky, affordable, and just a short walk from the riverfront.

The best part of the trip? I took a twilight walking tour through the historic district. Gas lamps flickering, stories of old Savannah echoing off the cobblestones. Ghost tales, Civil War history, even a bit of Hollywood trivia. It wasn’t just a tour—it felt like stepping into a novel.

Savannah doesn’t try to impress you. It simply invites you to feel. And I did—peace, wonder, curiosity, and that old traveler’s joy of stumbling into somewhere that feels like it was waiting for you all along.

If anyone’s looking for a destination that’s walkable, memorable, and just a bit magical—put Savannah on your list.
