Notes From The Road - The Vacation Dress Code

Today, I’ve decided to broach a somewhat sensitive subject. And that subject is the vacation dress code. That’s right, for those of you that don’t already put some effort into your appearance, this message is for you. One of the most invaluable pieces of information you can garner on your vacation research is to learn what the dress code is. Regardless of where you’re going, find out how others will be dressed. Armed with that information, plan and pack your gear accordingly. If air travel is on the itinerary, then dress business casual. I wear a sport coat on the plane if I need one for the trip. I never wear workout gear or flip flops on an airplane. I wear comfortable shoes. If you are going to a nice dinner, then kick it up a notch in the wardrobe department. Of course wear beach attire at the beach or the pool but cover up in the hotel lobby. Your fellow guests and the hotel staff will appreciate your common courtesy. I am a huge fan of dressing for the occasion so spiff it up a bit you beautiful, creature you! Enjoy the trip!
